1965 Ford Mustang Prairie Bronze exterior,
Palomino interior, Factory High Performance Package: 289 cu. in., 271HP
engine, |
| My Dad bought
this car from a friend who worked with him at Aberdeen Proving Ground in 1974.
It was my first car. It has been painted a different color at one time, had
an engine overhaul in 1975, a total restoration in 1982, retuning it to it's
original color, with Shelby quick steering kit, lowered upper control arms,
and Koni adjustable shocks added all around, suspension upgrade in 1992 with
Gemini Racing 600 lbs. springs, boxed lower control arms, pan-hard bar, solid rear leaf spring shackles, and 65 Shelby exhaust system. In the fall of 2000 I installed the beefier 1970 Mustang front spindles. Later this winter the engine will be rebuilt and balanced. Hopefully next winter some body work will be done and it will be repainted. I have driven this car at many open track events at SAAC Conventions, and several drivers schools, most at Watkins Glen, NY. I have also enjoyed auto-crossing it as well. I have enjoyed all the cars I have owned but this is the one that I have had the most fun with. |
